Getting High With Jesus (Not Jesus)
Jesus knows grass
And its peculiarities
Actually, not true:
He knows he's supposed to
Cut it once a week during
Growing season. Back in the
Day he'd cut it another way:
In one bag he'd augment
Cannabis with alfalfa or
Catnip. He knew his business
We were happy to oblige. After all
He lived on W Gulf
Beyond the traffic circle
That meant something
To us high schoolers. An immigrant kid - smart
But darker skin - signifying
Something else to us. We were better because of our station. But Jesus had stations too - fourteen - with his cross.
