Time and marriage
Changed the belle
Of the ball
Tight, ill-fitting
Brassieres and a
Penchant for pain
Make her
The maven
To watch
She’s come
To understand
The basic
Differences
Between
The sexes
As if the
Arm hair
Weren’t
Enough
To keep
Them separate in her mind.
There are those
Who’ve come
Too late
To understand
The differences,
Which are plentiful, planetary, and final.
But there is a must to avoid:
The shrieking, shrill thrill
in the dark,
patting the backside
of Venus
encircling in orbit,
the meadows of Mars.
